La Palma 's special projects
Sometimes a client becomes a business partner. La Palma participates in a cheese factory, for instance, as well as an ostrich farm. And we import stretch foil into the Netherlands from Eastern Europe . Just because it's an interesting project run by fascinating people. Or perhaps we see that exchanging information and creating close ties will be a way to strengthen both parties. Or sometimes it's simply a matter of good logistics: trucks arriving in Holland that would otherwise be empty.

Cheese factory
La Palma and its Albanian partners set up a cheese factory in Albania , a project subsidized by the Dutch government. An delightful project with nice people who are smart and eager to learn.

Most of what the factory produces is sheep cheese, but some goat cheese is made there as well. The cheese is intended not only for the local market, but also for export to the Netherlands .

A Dutch cheese manufacturer is giving us advice about the production of organic cheese in Albania . The product is something like Gouda , but it's made from the milk of sheep and goats - and it's organic.

We are also collaborating with top EU manufacturers of foodstuffs in a plan to distribute frozen and refrigerated products to the Albanian market.

Ostrich farm
La Palma is also involved in the developing of an ostrich farm in Albania . We handle the logistics, which means getting the ostriches, the equipment and related materials to the site. When this project has been completed, we will alsobe actively involved in the sale of ostrich meat in the EU.

Stretch foil
One of our partners in Eastern Europe manufactures stretch foil using brand-new, highly modern machinery. The people who are running this business are dedicated and qualified. We are importing the stretch foil into the EU. La Palma handles the distribution from its Dutch office and warehouse.
